* Start in Saint Paul, just north of the state capitol
* Follow an old Soo Line Railroad track
* Enter the Phalen-Keller Regional Park
* Through Maplewood and North Saint Paul
* Parallel Highway 36 through Oakdale, Pine Springs and Mahtomedi
 * Pass under Highway 36 and enter rural Washington County
* Pass by many ponds and 58 protected wetlands
* End at Pine Point Park, five miles north of Stillwater
